Why does this always happen on Spawn.com's board?

I miss the old days of the board. Like chaser said, it had a family feel. You knew everyone on there. Rarely would anyone come and just go.

As for Jon, I don't know how he mods. I wasn't on the board for a long time because I went on a journey to NY. When I came back, I saw the board was the same as it was before I had gone out of town. Toy threads of every type, lots of off topic stuff...

So I posted "OT: Man Thing on Sci Fi!" just to give a heads up. Jon decided to drop my rep points into the negative. When I asked why, he said it was to get my attention and not to make OT posts again. But... there's still plenty of them going on there. I don't understand how he works.

It sounds like you all want someone to be modding there 24/7 to take care of it all.

We all know those guys have a full time job before they get to the boards and do the modding thing. I think with what they have to work with, they do a decent job. Stuff is going to get through no matter how hard you try. Just look at this place at times - we had as many mods as them, and still a couple of people came on and caused enough of a rift that a good number of members decided not to return as much, if not at all. The more contributers, the more crap there is going to be.

just the way it is now, and I can't see where it is anyone's fault really as the times everyone keeps talking about were of a smaller community.

Although I find ti funny at times that some people (and this is not directed at anyone in particular in thread or not) will complain they don't have that sense of community, but won't contribute to a smaller board like this and do nothing but complain how slow it is compared to Spawn.com.

The smaller community here and the "deadness" that sometimes results from that has never bothered me enough or compelled me to complain about it.

And then, if he did ban people left and right (which is what I do when those guys are away), people would call him a Nazi. It's a no-win situation.

It's not, however, Goff's fault that a handful of people act like jackasses.

Would you go work your job on your days off for free? As it stands, all of do try to hit the boards a couple times on the weekends when we can. This past weekend, Goff and I were in Minneapolis at a show and Mark was in NM on vacation. (shrugs)

Personally, someone calling me a Nazi wouldn't stop me from banning their stupid asses.

I would also say it's somewhat larger than just a handful that act like morons.

By the way, if you ever do start banning left and right, ban the person's ISP so they don't come back the next day with a new account (there's another problem... look at the number of members and then look at how many actually POST. There are so many with either no posts or just 1-2) and start the same shit. And make the ban-period a few weeks... 3 should be good, and it goes up with each offense.

That would also send a message to the others.

See, I think they keeping acting like jackasses over and over because they know they can get away with it fairly easily with the lax policies.

But then again, I don't know as much about board politics as you do...
